Jane grew up in Derry, Northern Ireland but moved to London to study Theatrical Set Design in the early ’90’s. After spending the late 90’s and early ’00s working in fringe and regional theatre and then the lighting side of theatre in London, she ended up in Yorkshire escaping the tall buildings, concrete and congestion of people and swapping them for hills, valleys, green and space.
This reawakened her need to be creative and she has spent the last few years getting back to being creative as an artist both with paint and the camera.
A lot of her childhood was spent in beautiful north Donegal, a visually stunning county on the border of her home town of Derry. This very often still heavily influences her painting and thinking quite as much as the influence of the wilds of Yorkshire where she now lives and has fallen in love with.
